A knife collection app for people who actually carry them

A good knife has a history: where it came from, what steel it is, when you last sharpened it and how it has changed with use. A tidy catalogue makes it easy to see what you own, what you carry and what needs care.

Record the specs once

Write down the maker and model, blade length, blade steel, lock type and handle material when you buy the knife. These are the details you will otherwise look up again each time someone asks, and they matter when you compare two knives you are deciding between.

Keep a care log

Note when you sharpen, what you used and what edge angle you aimed for. Add oil or pivot cleaning if you do it. A short log helps you see which knives are getting used and which sit in a drawer.

Know the rules where you carry

Rules about carrying knives differ a lot between countries and even between cities, including blade length and locking mechanisms. Check the law wherever you carry, and keep a note of anything you need to remember about each knife.
